Go Lightly Through These Times
It’s the time of the great void. The time where we might begin to wonder what day it is, and who are we? Sandwiched between too many cookies (no pun intended), too many social gatherings, or too much resistance to the ever-changing weather- these days can make us feel like we’re drifting.
And while feeling adrift combined with less responsibilities can sometimes feel expanding and creative, it can also sometimes bring us feelings of dis-ease and unsettledness. It’s so important through these times to be gentle with ourselves and find simple calming ways to return to our the essence of who we are.
We can all access this light-filled luminosity right now by placing a hand on the belly and heart and taking a few simple breaths. Without the mind’s anguish of incessant chatter- the breath and the ever-expanding quality of our life is right here with us- always.
Our minds want to resist this quiet simplicity of returning and remembering. The mind wants to take us into thought forms and task lists and challenges of the past or the future. But right here in this present moment is life- pulsing, forming, radiant- breathing.
We have access to this always- but this relationship of attunement takes practice. When we come together to simply breathe together, to feel together- we help each other remember.
This simple breath returns us to the basics of what we need to do right now- the actions that are most aligned with our aligned will- and not swept up in the “shoulds or have tos”.
I hope that you and we find access to this place of remembering in this time. And I hope to see you soon on your own return to this breath.
“Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a field- I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies in that grass- all thoughts will pass, all thoughts will pass.” song- Unity, Sean Johnson & the Wild Lotus Band- excerpt from Rumi
